There is a danger in rushing things and thinking that they must happen overnight.
This is the danger that has befallen a few misfits over the Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd company.
It has nearly been three years and already an outcry over why there isn't much progress is being heard.
How does one expect a fly by night kind of set up when stages must follow each other. Just like a child does not get born today and start running, the same project follows.
How does one think that everything must be set up all at once, be quick to judge and say nothing is happening without understanding what is happening behind the scenes.
A recent tour of the Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd site revealed that sections of the project which are the sorting, concrete, landfill and water treatment plants are at different stages of construction.
With machinery currently in transit, the company has not folded its hands but is working to ensure a clean and safe environment.
The three Rs of waste management which are reduce, reuse and recycle will be part of the site's processes.
Explaining the process, Engineer Anesu Zingambe, the company's Operations and Compliance Manager said some facilities cannot be there before the completion of others.
She said the major components of the site are the weigh bridge, encapsulator, sorting plant, Waste to energy plant and the water treatment plant.
"Waste which is coming now is being put in designated areas inside the dumpsite and all of it is going to be encapsulated," she said.
"In the sorting plant that is where we are going to segregate waste and remove all recyclable material which we are going to give to recycling companies. Then on the waste which is combustible, it will go the Waste to energy plant. The remaining waste will go to the landfill."
She said three landfills will be constructed for ashes, municipal solid waste and hazardous waste.
A lot of progress has been registered at the site. The company has also ensured that it supports the City of Harare so that a lot of waste is increased and that a safe environment is realised.
