Engagement policy paying off

By Staff Writer

His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa's engagement and re-engagement policy is paying off and has cascaded down to the churches with Johane the 5th of Africa International Church engaging with the ANC to improve the existing relationship.

The ANC leadership along with that of the J5 church in South Africa glamorously welcomed the J5 Founder Archbishop Dr Andby Makururu at O.R Tambo Airport yesterday.

Speaking about the programme at hand, Archbishop Makururu said he is taking a leaf from President Mnangagwa who is working hard to ensure a unified SADC region.

"It is true that it is our duty as a church to mobilize and engage with the political Parties such as ZANU PF, FRELIMO and MPLA among others. I am therefore currently engaged with more than 20 ANC Councillors to ask for spiritual guidance," Archbishop Makururu said.

"As churches if we engage with them at all levels so they advance their relationship with other sister Parties. God is the unifier and as those sent by God, we must diligently take this role seriously. At this time we are living, there is a lot of division and jealousy so it is only God who is the unifier to unify at all levels and we cannot do anything without his power. As churches let's believe in each other and work in unity."
