Britain's New Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Peter Vowles says top of his agenda is to ensure good relations are maintained with Zimbabwe.
His remarks were made after a closed door session with the ZANU PF leadership Cdes Obert Mpofu (Secretary General) and Simbarashe Mumbengegwi (Secretary for External Relations).
ZANU PF Secretary General Cde Obert Mpofu noted that the range of issues discussed were on the illegally imposed sanctions among other issues.
"We have had an enriching discussion with the new British Ambassador to Zimbabwe, where we discussed quite a number of issues affecting our relationship ranging from sanctions, the debt and generally the political matters."
Ambassador Vowles highlighted that he appreciated the views of the ZANU PF leadership with regards to the UK-Zimbabwe relations.
"We discussed a range of issues and I welcomed the views on the UK-Zimbabwe relationship. Basa rangu kusimbisa hukama we Britain ne Zimbabwe. My role is to do what I can to strengthen the relationship between Britain and Zimbabwe."
Commenting on the 2023 Harmonized Elections, Ambassador Vowles said that he referred back to the statement made after the elections which commended the peaceful nature with which the elections had been conducted.
