Zimbabweans urged to embrace digitisation ....as government gears towards SMART Zimbabwe by 2030
Minster of ICT, Postal and Courier Services Hon Kazembe Kazembe has urged Zimbabweans to embrace digitisation especially in government to ensure that the nation is safe from cyber-attacks.Speaking at the just ended cyber security conference held in Bulawayo, ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister, Hon Kazembe Kazembe, said his ministry is working towards the SMART Zimbabwe 2030 master plan in order to drive the digitisation agenda."The ministry is working towards a new SMART Zimbabwe 2030 Master plan in order to drive the digitisation of the Government economy and the society."These three aspects represent the broad outcomes of our master plan."Let me take the opportunity to inform you that significant progress has been made in the development of the master plan."Minister Kazembe Kazembe added that his ministry would present the master plan to the cabinet committee on innovation, technology development and application soon for further scrutiny.The minister also thanked all stakeholders from different government institutions, for working together in the digitisation of a trusted digital environment.Currently the ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services is working on a cyber-security bill whose thrust is to guarantee a secure digital environment.The cyber security conference was running under the theme "Emerging Technologies" and it has been set up as the close down for the National Cyber-security awareness month that kicked off at the beginning of October this year.In attendance was ICT, Postal and Courier Services Permanent secretary Hon Dr Eng Sam Kundishora, Potraz Director General Dr Machengete, Netone Chief Executive Officer Mr Muchenje among others.
