Zimbabwe joined the rest of the world in commemorating Word Tourism Day.
The day is celebrated every 27th of September annually to promote tourism activities as this industry is a low hanging fruit for many economies.
This year, the day is being celebrated amidst a covid19 pandemic which literally halted the travel of tourists locally and internationally. At the moment efforts to resuscitate the industry are being dine with virtual tourist packages.

This year the celebrations are being held under the theme "Tourism and Rural Development."
The theme encourages the celebration of the unique role played by tourism in job creation in rural areas.
