The recent dinner hosting of the Belarusian envoy by Her Excellency, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa at State House as well as the gesture by that Government towards the Angel of Hope Foundation has been described as a show of strong relations the two countries enjoy.
Speaking during a Policy and Coordinating meeting at the ZANU PF Headquarters this week, ZANU PF Secretary General Cde Obert Mpofu said he hoped that such strong relations continue.
"Last night, the 21st of January 2024, our esteemed First Lady, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa had the pleasure of hosting a dinner in Honour of Irina Abelskaia, Professor, Medical Director of the State Institution "Republic Clinical Medical Centre" of the administration of President of the Republic of Belarus at State House. Professor Irina Abelskaia announced a gift of a fully equipped Mobile Hospital to the Angel of Hope Foundation. This is a show of the strong relations that Zimbabwe and Belarus enjoy and we hope such relations continue."
The basis of Belarusian exports is traditionally made up by motor vehicles and related consumables and spare parts, fertilizers, and printed products. Zimbabwe supplies to Belarus tobacco raw materials, as well as small amounts of seasonal fruits.
In January 2019, the first official visit to the Republic of Belarus of H.E. E.Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, took place. Within the visit there was held a number of official events, including the meeting with H.E.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, and signing of a number of international treaties.
