ZANU PF National Youth League Chairperson Cde Tendai Chirau has denounced the planned violent 31 July protests encouraging peace.
He said this whilst addressing ZANU PF members at a meeting held in Mbare yesterday adding that democracy in Zimbabwe should not be abused as it threatens the peace in the country.
“Let us maintain peace and protect our property from thugs. ZANU PF values unity, peace and development. It is our sole responsibility to take good care of our mother country. Violence should be shunned, peace is the way to go,” he said.
“Yes we have democracy in this country but that democracy should not be allowed to threaten our national interests. We must promote peace and tranquillity of our nation.”
Just recently, ZANU PF South Africa also castigated the planned July 31 demonstrations
The opposition MDC A is planning on holding violent protests on 31 July which have been castigated by many, following the August 2018 and January 2019 violent demos.
