ZANU PF YOUTH EXECUTIVE ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON POVERTY ERADICATION
A FOUR-MEMBER ZANU PF Youth League executive delegation is attending a three day international zoom seminar on Poverty Eradication and Responsibility of Parties which is aimed at improving the role played
Over 216 delegates from across the world are attending the meeting from their various locations as countries still observe the covid19 health regulations.
ZANU PF's Acting Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Tendai Chirau is leading the delegation comprising of the Youth League's Secretary for External Affairs Cde Sibongile Sibanda, Secretary for Business Development and Liason Cde Kelvin Manyengawana and Deputy Secretary for Administration Cde Mabutho Moyo.
Speaking about the seminar Cde Sibanda said the Party is privileged to take part in this meeting and is learning a lot from it.
"We have had the opportunity as a Party to exchange notes with like minded sister parties on how political parties can assist in handling the covid19 situation in line with WHO guidelines," she said.
"We have a role to play as a political Party in poverty eradication, restoring our economy and social life post Covid 19. You may be aware of the programmes that we have been doing as a Party ahead of the pandemic and how people's livelihoods have changed."
Cde Sibanda shared notes on lessons learnt so far.
"This meeting has given us an opportunity to engage as sister parties, because we have to look out for the interest of our membership and the nation." Cde Sibanda said.
"We have learnt that in order to alleviate poverty, we need to start
"Training and equipping the less privileged with skills and helping them change their mindset helps them contribute effectively to their welfare and ultimately the Gross Domestic Product."
Cde Sibanda also highlighted their appreciation to the Chinese Government for the support it has given the nation in the form of PPEs and medical personnel, amongst other grants and aid that has been given to the nation.
