ZANU PF Secretary General has commended the visit by the Cuban Vice President to Zimbabwe recently which has shown some sound and cordial relations between the two nations.
Addressing the revolutionary Party’s policy co-ordination meeting this week Dr Obert Mpofu saluted the visit by Hon Salvador Valdes Mesa to Zimbabwe which demonstrates that the ZANU PF government is indeed open up to all across the globe.
“This past week, there was a state visit by the Cuban Vice President Hon.Salvador Valdes Mesa and he participated in several activities including touring the Museum of African Liberation, touring Sherwood farm as well as commissioning the Fidel Castrol road (formerly known as Charter)in Harare,” said Dr Mpofu.
Dr Mpofu also take the opportunity to congratulate colleague politburo member ZANU PF Secretary for External Affairs Cde Simbarashe Mbengegwi who was recently accorded the Friendship Medal by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.
“Cde Mumbengegwi was recently accorded the Friendship Medal by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.We would like to congratulate him,”added Dr Mpofu.
Fidel Castrol road formerly Charter was officially commissioned by the Cuban Vice President Hon.Salvador Valdes Mesa and his Zimbabwean Counterpart Vice President Colonel Kembo Mohadi.
Vice President Hon.Salvador Valdes Mesa thanked the government of Zimbabwe and said the road represents the honour and memory of an icon who came to Harare in 1986 for the Non-Aligned Movement Summit.
