By Margaret Kamba  ZANU PF as the ruling Party continues to lead by example in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic as the Party today launched the COVID-19 Awareness Campaign in a workshop that was attended selected Politburo members, Provincial Chairpersons of both wings who have been directed to go and conduct awareness campaigns on the virus in their respective constituencies.Various information dissemination platforms have been created by various companies including Econet Wireless which has been sending tips through its SMS platforms on awareness. ZANUPF has already started to walk the talk and lead by example through installation of screening processes at entrances as we as adopting a one-chair-in-between sitting arrangement during this particular meeting.Speaking during awareness campaigns where she was the guest speaker at the Party Headquarters, National Chairperson of the Party Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said President Mnangagwa’s zero tolerance to COVID-19 must be observed.“President and First Secretary of the ZANU PF Party Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has called for a zero tolerance to COVID-19 before it reaches Zimbabwe in order for the virus to be prevented. We are running under the theme ‘zero tolerance to COVID-19 begins with me, begins with you and begins with all of us.’She further said “this meeting will give us a comprehensive brief of the virus and demystify misconceptions about it. We must have unity, unity of purpose so that we safeguard our people’s lives.”Also speaking during this meeting National Political Commissar Cde Victor Matemadanda commended those present for showing their level of seriousness in preventing the deadly virus.“Thank you for heeding to the urgent call to be here on such a short notice. It shows the seriousness of the Provinces regarding the pandemic. Production and development of the country can only be possible in a healthy nation. It is unfortunate that some have been misquoted in the media as they seek to gain political mileage but this has to do with life and we must unite to do one thing.”Minister of Health and Child Care, Cde Obadiah Moyo shared notes on COVID19 with the present Party leaders.“The People’s Republic of China PRC was successful through discipline. Discipline is necessary to control this pandemic because it is not just a story. Corona Virus infections have reached over 209 839 cases across the world and 8 878 deaths have been recorded. I must tell you that we have no COVID-19 in Zimbabwe but we are taking precautionary measures because of our good leader President Mnangagwa who has made sure we are proactive.”Symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some less common symptoms include shortness of breath, tightness in the chest and other aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea.
