ZANU PF has won the Gutu West Constituency by-election with a wide margin in the just ended elections.
The Revolutionary Party was being represented by the Deputy Secretary of Youth Affairs in the Politburo Cde John Paradza who pulled 12 147 votes defeating Martin Sebastian Mudzingwa, an independent candidate, received 1,775 votes, Ephraim Morudu from Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) received 1,258 votes, and Robson Kurwa from the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) received 138 votes.
The by-election was conducted as a result of the death of independent candidate Christopher Mutonhori just before the harmonised elections on August 23, 2023 in an accident.
The winning of Gutu West constituency gave ZANU PF an additional seat in Masvingo Province to 24 out of 26.
