ZANU PF Member of Parliament for Chiredzi West is currently rolling out ward-based income generating projects aimed at empowering the residents while observing the covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
In line with the President E.D Mnangagwa’s vision of putting the economy ahead of politics through enhancing production, the constituency has witnessed all the 13 wards immensely benefiting from various projects chief among them market gardening, bakery, poultry and carpentry.
Running under the theme, ‘’Let us be proactive during Covid-19 lockdown,’’ Honourable Farai Musikavanhu said a number of activities are being conducted in Chiredzi while observing the Covid-19 guidelines.
Cde Musikavanhu said the aim is to equip and motivate vulnerable groups to use available resources while luring members of the opposition party.
“What I am embarking on in Chiredzi is to support and urge the residents not to sit back and relax because the pandemic has struck.
“What is essential is to think outside the box and work an extra mile, making use of the available resources,” said Hon Musikavanhu.
“My constituency also covers Chiredzi town where three quarters of my wards are located. Out of eight that are in Chiredzi town ZANU PF has four and MDC Alliance has four. I have managed to market the Party and win the hearts of some opposition members undoubtedly with some income generating projects I am rolling out there.”
In ward 30A Hon Musikavanhu successfully launched the Women’s League bread making cooperative which has been successful in mitigating the shortage of bread to the residents of Chiredzi West.
Hon Musikavanhu also assured the people of Chiredzi that their theme ’Let us be proactive during Covid-19 lockdown’’, has specific benchmarks that will also see the constituency as a whole, benefiting sound health programmes for women, organising training and workshops on economic and political issues, strengthening cells and participation in Party and state functions.
