ZANU PF has re-affirmed its support for the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) platform, dismissing as outright nuisance calls
POLAD a platform that brings together progressive political players was created
In a hard hitting statement ZANU PF Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, said the ruling Party had no time for sore losers.
“The Party therefore has no time to entertain calls for exclusive dialogue processes that are being demanded
“We take this opportunity to remind him that at the inception of this ongoing dialogue President ED Mnangagwa has been on record saying that any political players willing to join the dialogue process are welcome to do so at any given time of their choice because dialogue is a continuous process,” said Cde Chinamasa.
Cde Chinamasa warned Chamisa not to view President Mnangagwa’s embracement of dialogue as a sign of weakness. “We continuously encourage all political players to take this dialogue seriously as convergence platform to share ideas on how to take the country forward.
“We further state that the President’s calls for dialogue is not an act of cowardice nor a sign of weakness as some have been tempted to think. Rather it is a gesture of statesmanship, inclusivity and maturity and the hall-marks of a Listening President. The POLAD dialogue platform which is in motion is inclusive of all political players and must be supported
Cde Chinamasa reminded the MDC-A leader that POLAD had “been endorsed
He also warned the western sponsored MDC-A against inciting violence.
“However we advise that issuing empty threats of violence or setting unbridled conditionalities to an ongoing inclusive dialogue framework will not be tolerated. The Party reaffirms its support for the POLAD process and calls upon Chamisa and like-minded political leaders to join the POLAD frame work,” Cde Chinamasa said.
