ZANU PF Women’s League Director, Cde Oliver Mandipaka was recently awarded with the prestigious award for peace advocacy and social impact.Awarding this honour, the Governing Council and Board of Directors of the Pan African Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Centre in partnership with the World Leaders Forum Dubai and Dynasty Group highlighted that the 5th Pan African Humanitarian Summit/Award conferred to Cde Mandipaka was for "the bravest and most daring, most strategically sound and forward looking personality with measurable achievement".These achievements have been seen through his humanitarian interventions for socio-economic development and his outstanding leadership qualities and exceptional contribution to sustainable peace, humanitarian issues, community development and persistent efforts in creating a solid leadership and entrepreneurship space and socio economic development,".Speaking about the award, Cde Mandipaka noted that it was due to his consistent work.“It is due to the consistency in the work at the Zimbabwe Republic Police and the Public Relations role in which I preached peace. It is also because of the role I played in the peace keeping mission to Liberia where I worked in building the capacity of the Police force and the community. It is also due to the role as a Member of Parliament in which I inculcated entrepreneurship skills within the community and saw to the reconstruction and construction of schools and clinics,” Cde Mandipaka said.“This award challenges me to work harder to impact my nation more. Look at the example given by the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF ,President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his efforts to bridge the gap between people of different political persuasions. This role must be emulated by the nation. This means there is a lot I should do in also ensuring that my current portfolio in the Women’s League provides tangibles for women empowerment as they play their part.“This is why we are calling on the corporate world and business partners from within and abroad to come on board in partnering women. This is not just my award but for Zimbabwe and the entire southern African region.”Cde Mandipaka is recognised alongside His Excellency President Raila Odinga, AU High representative for Infrastructural development and former Prime Minister of Kenya Cellou Dalein Diallo and former President for Malawi Joyce Banda and among others.
