Gokwe Sesame Member of Parliament Cde Madron Matiza says young people must desist from rubbishing their country and unite for Zimbabwe's development.
Speaking on the importance of the National Youth Day, Cde Matiza said, "I am happy for the National Youth Day because the day was set aside by our father, His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa It helps us as youths to remain patriotic to the agenda of the nation. Our forefathers fought for this country, and we are enjoying the benefits," Cde Matiza said.
"As youth, the day is important for our unity and for us to reminisce about where our country came from because it did not come on a silver platter. There are comrades who died and others who suffered immensely for us to be where we are today.
"Many youths have come into Parliament through the youth quota and this is very pleasing and brought by our President. We have youths in mining and I am one of those who are into mining and got the opportunity to be empowered as a youth. Let's unite as how our forefathers did from South to Cairo with Cdes Robert Mugabe and Julius Nyerere.
"Let's desist desist from rubbishing our country. This is our time to bring peace unto our land. This is our time to preach peace to Zimbabwe."
