Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Province Cde Charles Tavengwa says the achievements of this year's winners of the Legacy Empowerment Awards LEA are a source of pride for Zimbabwe.
He made these remarks at the ZANU PF Headquarters during the 4th Edition of the LEA. He commended the winners for their steadfastness in inspiring the communities they reside in.
"These Awards recognize the unwavering dedication to building a brighter future for all Zimbabweans. The Legacy Empowerment Awards are a critical part of honoring and preserving the legacy of the liberation struggle," Minister Tavengwa said.
"By recognizing the achievements of those who have made a difference, we remind ourselves of the struggles and sacrifices that were made in the fight for freedom.
"These Awards also serve as an inspiration for future generations encouraging them to continue with the work of building a strong and vibrant nation."
Cde Tavengwa said the Awards symbolize hope.
"The LEA are a powerful symbol of hope and progress. Today we gather under the theme, "Inspiring Generations, Recognizing the Enduring Power of Legacy". This theme resonates deeply with the achievements of our esteemed winners who have not only created their own lasting legacies but have also paved way for future generations to follow in their footsteps," the Minister said.
"As we celebrate the remarkable contributions of those who have come before us, we also acknowledge the profound impact that each of our winners has had on their communities, families and industries. Their legacies serve as a reminder that our actions, decisions and achievements have the potential to inspire and shape the lives of those who come after us.
"As we honour these exceptional individuals, we are also reminded of the enduring power of legacy and the responsibility that comes with it. As we gather here to celebrate the achievements of this year's awards, you are reminded of the courage and resilience of those who came before us. The history of Zimbabwe is one of perseverance and triumph and these Awards reflect that legacy.
"You are honored today because you have carried on the spirit of the liberation struggle, working to create a better future for all Zimbabweans. Your actions embody the same courage, vision and determination that defined the struggle for independence.
"We honour you for your commitment to preserve and honoring the legacy of the liberation struggle and for your dedication to creating a brighter future for all Zimbabweans. Your achievements are a source of pride for our nation and an example that will continue to inspire future generations."
