His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has commended the role played by women in the growth of the Zimbabwean economy.

Speaking during a ceremony to recognize and award outstanding women, President Mnangagwa reiterated that these women represent just but a fraction of what Zimbabwe holds.

“Across the world and Zimbabwe, women play a pivotal role in the advancement of sustainable innovative solutions and community driven development,” he said.

“They nurture families and help build stronger institutions as they help instill values and norms for ethical leadership. This is inspite of many challenges such as those accompanied by the illegal sanctions and climate change.

“We take pride in their contribution, with overall socio-economic development of our Motherland, Zimbabwe.”

He added that as the country continues to pursue NDS2, “women remain central for achieving inclusive growth, sustainable development and national prosperity.”
