WHO COMMENDS GOVERNMENT FOR OFFERING ESSENTIAL HEALTH CARE DURING COVID-19
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has commended the Ministry of Health and Child Care for adopting a community based approach in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
WHO noted that the Ministry of Health and Child Care has continued to offer essential health care services across the country, since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Writing on its official Twitter handle, WHO tweeted, “We commend @MoHCCZim leadership during #COVID19 for continuing to offer essential health care services across Zimbabwe and adopting a community based approach in their service delivery #UHC #HealthForAll.”
Zimbabwe has 567 confirmed COVID-19 cases and six deaths.
ZANU PF President and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa declared the COVID-19 crisis a “national disaster” towards the end of this March allowing the state to commander resources towards fighting the pandemic.
Following this declaration various organisation both local and international have donated various resources towards alleviating the plight.
