ZANU PF First Secretary and President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has said War veterans are a strategic entity to both the Party and country.
Giving is opening remarks to the 377th session of the Politburo President Mnangagwa directed the War veterans leadership to make concerted efforts to close the fissures within the grouping of the war veterans.
President Mnangagwa also reiterated the need for the war veterans to remain vigilant and on guard against various forms of infiltration by the enemy.
“Regrettably, the noises emanating from some quotas of the War Veterans are of concern. The leadership of War veterans, under the Secretary of the war veterans league and other critical stakeholders are once again directed to make concerted efforts to close the fissures within this grouping, which is a strategic entity to both our Party and country.
“Let us remain vigilant and on guard against various forms of infiltration by the enemy .We must never betray our revolution, or dishonour the ultimate sacrifice paid by the many sons and daughters of the soil who fought for our freedom and independence,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa also call upon the Politburo to provide solid leadership as well as wise and honest guidance to all wings of the Party.
“Going Forward, I call upon the Politburo to provide solid leadership as well as wise and honest guidance to all wings of the Party. This should always be informed by the Party Constitution, and the correct line of the Party. We must be leader who exhibit integrity and the principle at all times.
“Our Party led Government is marching forward and realising successes across all sectors of the economy. As the leadership, we must unite the Party, around our vision, principles, values and ideology.ZANU PF is a Party that is organised and anchored on its grassroots structures.
“It is therefore, important that we ensure that the ongoing restructuring and grassroots mobilisation exercise consolidates the strength of the Party. All Provinces are commended for the progress realised to date,” said President Mnangagwa.
