UK in major climb down after failed MDC-A planned demos
The United Kingdom smarting from the failed MDC-A planned
nationwide violent demonstrations was now trying to push for
exclusive dialogue between the ruling ZANU PF Party and the
Nelson Chamisa led MDC-A outside the POLAD framework.
The United Kingdom is the major ally of the United States of
America sponsored regime change agenda in Zimbabwe.
On the eve of the planned demonstrations, UK Ambassador to
Zimbabwe, Melanie Robinson said, “concerned language on and off social media in Zimbabwe this week following
calls for protests on Friday. Call for calm and restraint on all sides.”
The ZANU PF Department of Information and Publicity immediately
shot back saying “restraint is only possible when everyone abide by
the law and stop coordinating violence. As the ruling Party, we are
clear that the rule of law must be followed and respected the opposition included.”
The ruling ZANU PF Party has consistently said that any form of
“restraint” should be done under the purview of POLAD.
