This was a big gathering of the Jekenishen Church celebrating their Pasca at Maunganidze Village in Birchenough Bridge yesterday Saturday 20, 2024. The meeting was attended by Archbishop Dr Rocky Moyo the President of Council of Churches in Africa, Minister of State for Manicaland Province Hon Misheck Mugadza, Cde Tapiwa Mukodza ZANU PF Provincial Chairman for Manicaland Province, Cde Dr Davison Todson Gomo ZANU PF Commissariat Director for Research, Strategy and Liaison who is also in charge of Party Affiliates.
The entire church leadership hierarchy led by the Archbishop Dr Phillip Pheredzai attended in full force.
Archbishop Dr Rocky Moyo reiterated the position of CCA and the member churches' commitment to uphold the highest standard of ethics and to observe the laws of the land. He told the congregants that it is of paramount importance that indigenous churches must work with and support Government in its effort to achieve economic and social development in the country. He urged the church to contribute to development by funding and building their own schools, clinics and projects that will support the church's development . He spoke against gender based violence and early marriages.
Hon Minister Mugadza recounted all the projects that government has completed and those that are currently under way. The biggest of these projects is the proposed construction of an Airport in Mutare which once completed will bring ancillary development to Manicaland province. He urged the church to continue working with government and promised to sink a borehole at the shrine to help meet the needs of the congregants during their big meetings.
