Mufakose MDC Alliance legislator Susan Matsunga has commended the ZANU PF government led
President Mnangagwa has been preaching unity, peace and development while urging Zimbabweans to embrace their country’s development above all else.
Speaking during the Mufakose COVID 19 Youth Relief Fund workshop, the legislator for Mufakose constituency, Hon. Matsunga encouraged her constituents to shun political affiliation above unity and development of the country.
"Tine problem one yatinoita vechidiki, ngatiregedzei kungo Twitter tichingotuka hurumende yedu yeZimbabwe yavaMnangagwa, with the current situation. Ngatidananei tichinzwisisa kuti zvirikubvepi zvichiyenda kupi,” Matsunga said.
"Besides the political affiliation, youth are one so let us empower each other and also disseminate information to youths who did not manage to come to this gathering so that they understand the importance of this crucial program.
"It’s a journey and it’s not easy but until we reach our destiny as current government and I we are going to work together and let’s keep praying for our country to have a spirit of love and peace."
She lamented miniature projects as income generating project and encouraged the youth to establish good projects since the Youth Relief Fund is a once-off relief for affected businesses. MP Matsunga reminded the youth that the funds are to be used carefully.
The Member of Parliament thanked Minister of Sports Cde Kirsty Coventry and her Deputy Minister Cde Tino Machakaire for supporting the youth despite the political affiliation.
The MP promised to work hard for the government despite the COVID 19 pandemic and urged the youth to have in mind the proverb "iwe neni tine basa" and Zimbabwe will never be the same again taking advantage of the skills the youth have.
Recreational facilities established at the Mufakose Training Centre include a basketball pitch, gazebo for sculpturing, a netball pitch and offices where internet services are accessible to the youth.
