There has been a misconception that the indigenous churches have no clue how to run their churches which many are proving wrong.
Their continued participation in nation building under the Second Republic led by His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa goes beyond measure and has seen the rise of these indigenous churches almost like an uncontrolled veld fire.
The recent international Treasurer training workshop by the Archbishop Andby Makururu of the Johanne the 5th of Africa shows that the church understands the importance of basic financial fundamentals in the effective running and growth of the church.
Speaking during an interview, Archbishop Makururu said only those who are called can understand how it happens.
"We held a training workshop for the treasurers of all the international churches and the purpose of the workshop was to make them understand their role in the growth of the church," Archbishop Makururu said.
"Illustrations were given to them of how countries have suffered immensely from corrupt activities due to dishonest people and selfish motives.
"They were also taught that they must be receptive to all members and respect them as they are the people behind the growth of the church. Their attendance to scheduled meetings also speaks volumes about their respect for the leadership."
Archbishop Makururu added that "now that the indigenous church is working well with the ruling Government, it is imperative for all documentation to be in black and white for the purposes of transparency and paper trail."
