In a move aimed at assisting other would-be body-building athletic champions, 2023 Worrior Fitness World Champion and World Fitness Federation Zimbabwe President Simba Mhaka will be scouting for talent in March during the WFF Novice Cup competition.
Speaking about the competition set for March, the World Champion said developing this talent will enable the country to have representatives in next year's competitions.
"The purpose of this event is to scout and develop talent among all bodybuilders in Zimbabwe. The show is open to every first time bodybuilder in Zimbabwe and all Provinces are invited to participate," Cde Mhaka said.
"We are going to do some seminars before the show day in some selected places to educate people about bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is for everyone, so it is our mandate to make sure we have reached everyone, even in rural areas.
"There are prizes to be given to the winners ,trophies, hampers, and medals to top six atheletes. If we got enough sponsorship, we would also be willing to give prize money to the winners."
Cde Mhaka was quick to say that "Competitors show be aware that Novice is for the first timers only and it is the perfect chance they all have to showcase their talent. This is the first step to starting their journeys. In May, we are hosting a qualifier in Midlands to select the team to represent Zimbabwe in Philippines for the Asia Pacific Championships in August. So this can be a ground for us again to scout talent and produce the best team to represent our nation internationally.
He added that as the "World Fitness Federation Zimbabwe, we are looking for sponsorship to cover expenses like prizes for the athletes, venue rentals, and other logistics."
