The SADC Troika summit chaired
The Summit through the sound and visionary chairmanship of President Mnangagwa also paid tribute to medical front-line workers that have sacrificed their lives during the processes of fighting the deadly covid-19.
In a communique read
“The extraordinary organ troika summit plus Mozambique emphasized that Sadc will continue to cooperate regionally and globally in the fight against Covid -19and protect SADC citizens and sustain livelihoods .To this effect, the extraordinary organ troika summit plus Mozambique commended SADC citizens and global partners who are at the forefront in the fight against covid-19” reads part of the communiqué.

The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and since its outbreak in December 2019, COVID-19 has spread exponentially, and was declared a global pandemic
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) recorded its first case of COVID-19 in early March, and since then, the numbers have been increasing. As of 15th April, 2020, fourteen (14) of the sixteen (16) SADC Member States have been affected by COVID-19 – Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
