President warns multiple farm owners ....as he assured the nation of imminent land audit
ZANU PF First Secretary and President Cde Mnangagwa has warned greedy multiple farm owners and those oçcupying unutilised farms to shun such tendencies and be prepared to soon surrender extra land to government.Addressing thousands of ZANU PF supporters at Tshovani stadium, President Mnangagwa said those who own multiple farms and some oçcupying unutilised land must prepare themselves for the oncoming land audit."I am aware of the high profile people who own multiple farms and some who are oçcupying unutilised land.Very soon we are going to have land audit and take some of the land from those with multiple farms and allocate to those without."To those oçcupying unutilised farms we first give them a warning and a chance to prepare but if they fail, we take it back and give it to those with capacity to utilise."said President Mnangagwa.President Mnangagwa also said the Ministers of State for Provincial Affairs should apply for land from the President and government for allocation to people in their respective provinces."I also said Ministers of State are allowed to apply for land to the President and government for allocation to their people in the province."All agricultural land is now state land except for reserves which will be under traditional leaders. Agriculture is the backbone of our nation, we must safeguard our land for future generations." said President Mnangagwa.President Mnangagwa also added that this year's Presidential input scheme has been intensified and amplified which will see some small grains being introduced.Turning to the issue of the economy, President Mnangagwa reminded the gathering that the nation is under a new transition, hence there is no choice but to go ahead with economy resucitation.President Mnangagwa also called for peace and harmony to drive the nation forward.
