PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA CHALLENGES COMPANIES TO GO BEYOND BORDERS
President and First Secretary of ZANU PF Cde E. D Mnangagwa has challenged local companies to take advantage of business opportunities beyond the borders.
He said this during his tour of the Saint Gobain Construction Products Zimbabwe yesterday.
"My administration, under the National Trade Policy and Export Promotion Strategy, has put in place plans to grow exports to US$7 billion by year 2023," President Mnangagwa said.
"The African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) also presents great opportunities for our local industries who must position themselves to penetrate the continental markets.
"I, thus, challenge Saint Gobain and other players in the construction industry to leverage on the booming construction industry, both locally and regionally, to increase their product range, market base and exports into Africa and beyond."
The country has a target to attain vision 2030 for an upper middle income class. This is set to improve the livelihoods of the local people.
