ZANU PF First Secretary and President, His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa has celebrated the contribution of Women’s League in nation building.
His remarks come at a time when the Women’s League has proven itself a force to reckon with in the Party’s mobilisation efforts.
Speaking during the National Assembly of the Women’s League this Friday at the Party headquarters, President Mnangagwa encouraged the women to continue mobilizing for the Party.
"The carefully selected theme of this meeting, "Expanding the Frontiers of Resilience, Strength and Commitment in Advancing the Total Inclusion and Empowerment of Women: Celebrating Continued Success Towards Vision 2030"is intricately interwoven into our national development agenda. It further resonates with the recently commemorated International Women’s Day and the mandate of the League, particularly to advance and achieve inclusive empowerment of women," President Mnangagwa said.
"I, therefore, wish to celebrate with you and honor your resilience, endurance, strength, hard honest work, focus, and commitment to both the Party and Government. Congratulations. Makorokoto. Amhlophe.
"I challenge you, as the Women’s League, to continue to demonstrate that you are the backbone of our Party’s mobilisation machinery and have the weighty responsibility to grow and keep our membership galvanised. Through your individual and collective efforts, the young, professionals, and non-professionals must find their way into the Party. ZANU PF ihomwe inokwana munhu wose. We must continue to spread our wings far and wide."
President Mnangagwa added that the Second Republic has no room for negative traits.
"Our individual and collective commitment, discipline, hard work and focus to attain shared goals provide the requisite energy to transform the country. You must, as the Women’s League, take a keen interest in accelerating the successful implementation of policies, programmes and projects that help uplift many of our people out of poverty into prosperity," he said.
"Negative traits where women would pull each other down have no space in the Second Republic. This has always had no place in our revolutionary Party, ZANU PF. You must take the lead as women to ensure the broad empowerment of women and girls across all aspects of life. That way, we guarantee a prosperous and just economy that meets the needs of both current and future generations."
