ZANU PF policy makers observed a minute of silence this morning in honour of the late National Hero Cde Stanley Nleya and Liberation War Hero Cde Nyadzayo.   These heroes like many other gallant sons and daughters of the soil, took up arms to bring home Zimbabwe‘s freedom from colonial rule.   Speaking during the opening remarks of Policy and Co-ordination meeting at the Party Headquarters, ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Cde Obert Mpofu described the heroes as dedicated cadres. “We commence this week with the acknowledgement of the untimely passing on of Cde Stanly Nleya the former ZIPRA Commander on the 16th of June 2020 at the United Bulawayo Hospital and Cde Nyadzayo who was declared a Liberation War Hero and was buried in Chinhoyi in Mashonaland West,” Cde Mpofu said.   “Their dedication and uprightness in serving the Party and the country is uncontested and we can only give praise and condolences to their families for the great opportunity and time they provided them to us in pursuing the revolution. It is also befitting that the Politburo has accorded Cde Nleya the highest honour off the National Hero Status.”   Cde Nleya was born on 28 September 1947 in Bulilima District in Masendu Area in Matabeleland South. He abandoned his education in March 1968 while he was doing Form Four to join the armed struggle. He underwent military training in Morogoro, Tanzania. Cde Nleya trained some of late heroes who include Rtd Col. Masala Sibanda, Enock Tshangange, Rtd Brig Gen Abel Mazinyane among others.   Cde Nleya's body will be buried this Wednesday at the National Heroes Acre.
