President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sworn in new ministers at State house today in a move that seeks to further strengthen the building of a world class economy through an efficient and well developed public administration system.Among the new appointees, President Mnangagwa took into account the uplifting of youths and women in critical government posts.Speaking to the media soon after the swearing in ceremony, newly appointed Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, Hon Eng Daniel Garwe said the new era was there to ensure proper public administration systems to improve efficiency, quality service and transparency in the public sector.“I have got over 30 years experience in construction engineering and we need to improve the livelihoods of people by providing quality social services in roads, water reticulation and good sewer systems.“I have been in this industry starting from the army to promote the security and socio-economic development of our nation.“Social infrastructure contributes to economic development and national growth hence the need to concentrate on it and even go beyond our borders in exporting our construction services. “What we want as Zimbabwe is the harnessing of our resources and to harmonise laws that govern the conduct of our contractors, architects and engineers,” said Eng Garwe.Newly appointed Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation ,Science and Technology, Hon Raymore Machingura ,said he was going to join the team in accelerating the new education curriculum which has a bias towards modern technological trends.“I am prepared to join my Minister, Prof Amon Murwira ,in accelerating the new education curriculum 5.0 which will take us to vision 2030,” said Hon Ray Machingura.President Mnangagwa in his first cabinet meeting soon after his inauguration last year ,gave ministers a week to present priority projects and quick-wins under their purview to improve the livelihoods of Zimbabweans in the shortest period.The President also advised every minister to “think outside the box” and pursue “high speed programme execution.”Some of the newly sworn in ministers include, Cde David Musabayana, deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade; Cde Tinoda Machakaire, deputy Minister Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation; and Cde Clemence Chiduwa, deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development.
