President Mnangagwa called for cooperation between Government and the private sector to achieve the 2023 vision.
“It is one thing to have a vision. It is quite another to walk the road map to achieve the vision. To do so you need stakeholders who are committed to the concept. You need stakeholders who will stay on course. You need an environment that can make the vision to flourish. You need a stable, united harmonious country,” said the President.
“Government also needs support from the private sector. The challenges facing the country are not Government challenges but are national challenges. The nation is composed of both the public and private sector. The two sides must pull together towards the betterment of the lives of the people.”
He also called for community participation while reiterating unlimited support for the private sector.
“We need those in Government, public sector, private sector, the communities where these companies operate to pull in one direction. To pull in unison. Our desire is to achieve the upper middle income by 2030. Let me assure you today that you enjoy the support of the Government in your endeavor to grow and prosper. I appeal to all companies in here to assist in the construction and development of infrastructure like roads, water, electricity, housing, social amenities like schools and clinics.”
