All the commotion that Zimbabwe has had over the past few weeks has been a ploy to get regional attention at the SADC Heads of State and Government Summit scheduled for the 17th of this month.
True only to their template of fake abductions, peddling falsehoods for regional and international attention and demonstrations, this has been another one of their tactics ahead of the scheduled meeting.
Mozambique is scheduled to virtually host the Summit under the theme '40 years Building Peace and Security, and Promoting Development and Resilience in the face of Global Challenges.'
Falling for their trap, ANC's Secretary General Cde Ace Magashule took a swipe at Zimbabwe and ZANU PF alleging human rights abuses in the country.
ZANU PF Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Patrick Chinamasa schooled Cde Magashule on the real situation on the ground urging him to get an appraisal from his counterpart ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Cde Obert Mpofu which he has since done.
The MDC has for a while used such tactics to create pandemonium in the country with the hope of making Zimbabwe ungovernable and achieve a regime change agenda.
Abductions such as that of Dr Peter Magombeyi prior to a United Nations scheduled meeting in the past took centre stage although it yielded no results. Fake abductions of Cecilia Chinembiri, Joanna Mamombe and other have also been done to pile pressure on government and incite the people of Zimbabwe to turn against their government.
It is sad that all these efforts have gone to waste because Zimbabwe is not on the agenda.
