Matemadanda warns members against supporting corrupt individuals.
ZANU PF National Political Commissar, Cde Victor Matemadanda has warned Party members in Mashonaland West who are fighting in the corner of “alleged” corrupt party members who have pending court cases, saying by so doing they were fanning clicks and groups which divide the Party.Addressing the Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Chinhoyi yesterday, Cde Matemadanda highlighted that the issue of clicks should stop forthwith and can not be tolerated in the new dispensation.Cde Matemadanda outlined that the revolutionary party had for long concentrated on membership, but now needed cadres who were content with whatever position they have and were not worried about benefits accrued through association with the Party.“We have for long concentrated on membership mobilization, but now we need cadres, real cadres who don’t join and stay in the party only for benefits, but they are content with what they have" said Cde Matemadanda.“Let me strongly warn those who are fighting in the corner of the alleged corrupt individuals in this province, we know you, and your days are numbered if you continue. Don’t be other people's puppets. We are aware some are beneficiaries of corrupt monies. Stop it forthwith,” he added.According to sources, there are some individuals in the Province who are resisting and fighting for the return of former Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Prisca Mupfumira who was fired by President Mnangagwa over graft charges involving more than US$90 million stolen from the National Social Security Authority (NSSA).The ex-Minister is on the verge of losing her Senatorial seat and Central Committee position as the Province resolved to recall her, but the party is still to deliberate on the matter. It is alleged she has of late been splashing money to party members to save her political career.
