Minister of State for Matabeleland North Cde Richard Moyo says his Province will never be the same following the Second Republic's intervention.
He said while Zimbabwe is a developing country which is on the illegal sanctions, His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa's anti-sanctions busting agenda had changed the face of Matabeleland North Province.
"We are a developing country which has been stifled and could not sell our ivory due to the restrictions and when we sell our diamonds, we must go through a middleman. We have no lines of credit and can only get these from the friendly countries due to the illegally imposed sanctions," Cde Moyo said.
"The coming in of the Second Republic led by His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has seen numerous projects being undertaken using local resources in order to bust these sanctions.
"This has seen the dam which was talked about since 1912 now 80 percent complete. Once finished we will have a 10 megawatt power station as well as a 10 hectare irrigation scheme making Matabeleland North a green belt."
Minister Moyo added that numerous other projects were completed.
"There are various projects in Matabeleland North's seven districts which have been completed while others are at different stages of completion. We have borehole piped schemes, schools, community halls and clinics such as Lona clinic in Hwange.
Previously the people of Matabeleland North used to travel to Bulawayo to apply for passports but are now able to access this service in Lupane, Hwange, Binga and Nkayi.
Before the upgrade, Victoria Falls had a small airport but now has an international airport through which many tourists are coming through as they visit the town which was given a City status by President Mnangagwa."
The Bubi-Lupane irrigation scheme is also a game changer while Binga also received fishing rigs from the President and has seen the women and youth in that area forming companies."
Minister Moyo added that the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange, the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road rehabilitation were also other things that were there to make sure that the province would never be the same anymore.
