LET US TAKE TIME TO REFLECT ON THE SUPREME SACRIFICES

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY ZIMBABWE. By ZANU PF NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, CDE O.C.Z. MUCHINGURI-KASHIRI  Hello Zimbabweans. Today marks a special day in the history of our motherland, Zimbabwe, as we are celebrating forty years of Independence. As the old adage goes, Life begins at 40. Indeed, this is a new beginning for us as the new dispensation as we now focus more on economics rather than sloganeering and in line with His Excellency, the President, Cde E.D Mnangagwa's declaration that 2020 is a year of productivity. As the nation turns 40, may our economy grow and our agricultural productivity improve so that we reclaim our status as Africa's bread basket.  Let us take time to reflect on the supreme sacrifices made by both living and departed Galant sons and daughters of this nation, who were selfless enough to sacrifice their own lives for our freedom. For that reason, let's continue to jealously guard against neo-colonialism. It is however sad that as the country celebrates four decades of Independence, the whole world is in a state of lockdown and indeed in a dark spot owing to the Corona virus pandemic.  For this reason, we could not gather to celebrate our 40th Independence in our traditional manner. As we continue to fight this global pandemic, I urge you all to continue staying at home, observing social distancing, personal hygiene and seek medical attention should you suspect to have any symptoms of the Corona virus. We continue praying that God heals his people.
