The year 2025 promises to be bigger and better for Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd with experts working hard to ensure the dream project realizes its full potential.
This exercise will see the company taking over waste collection from Harare City Council which is expected to help bring a cleaner environment.
Harare has over the years been known for numerous illegal waste dumping sites which have reduced the city's status.
In a 2025 prospects update, the company disclosed that numerous activities are lined up for 2025, among them installation of the Sorting Plant will occur.
"We are currently working on the installation of the Sorting Plant, with technicians from Disan, Turkey, collaborating with our team to complete the setup. We also plan to begin the construction of the waste-to-energy plant in the first quarter of the year," the Company's Public Relations Office said.
"We aim to take over waste collection services from the City of Harare, with a strong focus on transforming the city and making it cleaner. On the New Landfill Construction, we will begin the construction of another landfill, which will include three new cells."
The Recreational Facilities Upgrades will witness the construction of new changing rooms to improve amenities for the public."
