ZANU PF Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity has urged government to expedite the issuance of land permits.
This comes after government signed the historic land compensation agreement with the Commercial Farmers Union.
For many years the landless black majority failed to use the pieces of land as collateral owing to the possession of title deeds
Access to financing to help aid the black farmers to improve land and boost their agricultural productivity was for a while impossible.
Agribank now the Land Bank was placed under the illegally imposed sanctions
Speaking during the weekly press briefing at the Party Headquarters, Cde Chinamasa said it is imperative to have the permits issue addressed.
"Regarding the security of tenure to beneficiaries of the Land Redistribution Programme and in order to render the Land Redistribution Programme irreversible in practical terms and bring the land question to finality, it is incumbent upon Government to expedite the issuance of permits to more than 350000 households who benefited under the A1 scheme and granting 99 year leases to more than 19000 beneficiaries who benefited under the A2 scheme," he said.
"It should be known that before the Land Redistribution Programme, there were agreements with the former colonial powers on an amicable of settling the Land Question but rather that was not honored by the new Tony Blair Administration who chose to ignore that and rather went to create the MDC, with the assistance of the Westminster Foundation."
