Midlands Province Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Cde Owen Ncube says despite the illegally imposed sanctions, Zimbabwe is industrialising.
He said these remarks during the burial of liberation war hero Cde Mutendwa Chakona at the Midlands Provincial Heroes Acre.
These remarks come during the time the country and the SADC region prepare for the 25th of October when the countries stand in unison to call for the removal of the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.
The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly UNGA witnessed regional leaders among them Presidents Cyril Ramaphosa, Hage Geingob and Jao-Lorenco calling for the removal of sanctions placed on Zimbabwe.
"In particular, annually on 25 October, the entire SADC region stands with us in calling for the unconditional lifting of sanctions on Zimbabwe, which are also affecting regional economies. In spite of these sanctions, we are taking initiatives to industrialise and mordenise our economy on a trajectory that leaves no one and no place behind."
Minister Ncube added that the country through such schemes as the climate proof Presidential Inputs Pfumvudza programme is strengthening its preparedness for the normal to below normal rainfall season predicted.
