Chegutu East MP facilitates Building of Accident Stabilization Centers.
ZANU-PF Chegutu East Member of parliament Cde Dexter Nduna has facilitated the building of an Accident Victim’s Stabilization Center(AVSC) in his constituency to reduce the number of deaths caused
Cde Nduna highlighted that the Brunswick AVSC Accidents victims stabilization center is the first one of the 15 similar centers and can also be used as COVID-19 quarantine centres.
He noted that 70% of accidents victims die within the first hour after the accident because they lack stabilization within that hour called the golden hour before transmission to major hospitals or healthcare centers for treatment hence the idea to build these in he's constituency less than an hour from major highways so that Chegutu east can be known for saving lives of road accident victims.
“if we had these centers well equipped maximum 100km or less than an hour from accident site we would nearly match the global death average due to road carnage of 3 deaths per day currently ours is 5.”
He said that a trust formed from the community will be headed “The total cost of the building is between USD $70-100k. Community contribution made it possible while the Air-Force supplied skilled builders”
Cde Nduna said the centre which is to be completed
“We intend to get such equipment through private public partnerships with external or local partners” The party's manifesto in achieving a 2030 middle income economy states that everyone in the country must have access to a quality and affordable healthcare delivery system .
