CDE SHIRI RIDICULES THE WHITE COLONIAL SYSTEM TO HIS FINAL RESTING PLACE
National hero Cde Perrence Shiri has been laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre today following his untimely death.
Notable comrades who bade farewell to the gallant son of the soil were President and First Secretary of ZANU PF Cde E.D Mnangagwa, Vice President and Second Secretary Cde Kembo Mohadi, Vice President and Second Secretary Cde Constantine Chiwenga, ZANU PF National Chairman Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, ZANU PF National Political Commissar Cde Victor Matemadanda and Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Patrick Chinamasa among other dignitaries.
The burial was not an ordinary one with covid19 regulations followed resulting in many paying their tribute to the gallant son of the soil through social media platforms.
Instead of the normal men in black carrying him to his final resting place, men clad in white PPEs carried the coffin as if to symbolize his nickname Black Jesus and ridicule the white colonial system which he fought against for many years during the liberation struggle.
Never to be outdone even on the way to his final resting place, his ancestral spirits and those that guided the liberation struggle towards its successful implementation have showed the power of vadzimu.
He was no ordinary man. He was a stalwart fighter. A man determined to turn his fighting gun into a plough as seen through his astounding work in the agricultural sector. True to his principles which he swore with his colleagues about empowering the lives of the people of Zimbabwe, he saw the implementation of such programmes as the Pfumvudza concept which is aimed at eradicating hunger even at household level.
He has gone a little too soon. Go well gallant son of the soil.
