ZANU PF Director for Research, Strategy and Liason in the Commissariat Department Dr Davison Gomo has challenged the Social Influencers Organisation to bring positive change to the country.
He said these remarks at a national event held by the organisation in Zvimba East Constituency where various members from the country's seven Provinces gathered to interact and share ideas.
"These social influencers are important as they help us understand how we live. They have a role to play in teaching patriotism because the lack of it has resulted in the formation of clueless opposition political parties. These organisations are able to help influence issues regarding our culture and way of life and help society rid itself of foreign tendencies that are not part of our culture. With Education 5.0, it is important that we help teach our children how they can help build our society. You are aware that His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa says it is us who can build our own country through his mantra "Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo", we are the people to build our country and we must do so."
Dr Gomo challenged the Member of Parliament to find ways in which his Constituency can develop using resources found within his area urging him to start projects for the young people and women within his Constituency.
Social Influencers Organisation's Chairman Cde Stephen Chikondano said they are working with the various communities in order to drive the country towards vision 2030.
"We were founded in 2023 with the aim of promoting patriotism and the image of the country. In line with His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa's vision of building our country, we are harnessing the various skills in our different members so that they can contribute meaningfully to the development of their country. We are also working with students taking advantage of Education 5.0 which requires that we provide solutions to our problems, with the aim of nurturing them into responsible citizens especially looking at how the drug and substance abuse has affected our communities," he said.
"We are still in the process of reaching out to Matabeleland North and South Provinces as well as working with churches and other stakeholders."
Member of Parliament for the Zvimba East Constituency Cde Kudakwashe Manhanzva said "it is important to have such organisations to help educate people on the importance of our country, the dangers of drug and substance abuse and what it means to be patriotic, as lack of this knowledge can be detrimental. Let us help the youth understand what our country is and where it came from."
Over 600 delegates gathered for the event.
