At a time when the nation and the entire global international community are caught up in the fight against the deadly Corona Virus pandemic, squabbles within the MDC Alliance outfit are itching towards a bloodbath as the Supreme Court prepares to hand down its final judgement on the contentious status of the waning opposition party. This follows the news making rounds that the ConCourt today will be passing its ruling on the status of party structures and leadership. Mr Nelson Chamisa’s, who grabbed power ruthlessly and violently on the eve of the death of its founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai and proceeded to convene a shambolic sanitizing Congress has battled legitimacy in the western controlled party. The ruling will settle the question of legitimacy of the MDC which has been an ongoing affair since 2018. Ironically, the MDC A leader whose presidency is up for grabs in the event that he is declared illegitimate disputed the outcome of the 2018 elections were he was knocked down by President ED Mnangagwa.   This afternoon, social media has been ablaze with dreadful threats of violence from among the MDC A members. Officials within the rank and files of the Party have been leading the pack in posting inciteful messages, threatening that if the outcome doesn’t favour, Chamisa, there will be mayhem. The MDC A, through its dreaded terror group, the Vanguard, has a history of violence and terror attacks and almost arsoned Mrs Thokozani Khupe and their former secretary General Douglas Mwonzora at Tsvangirai’s funeral.
