ZANU PF National Chairman, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri is happy with preparations to host the Party’s 18th National People’s Conference set for next month at Goromonzi High School in Mashonaland East.Speaking during the tour of Goromonzi High School to assess the state of preparedness in the company of Politburo members, Mashonaland East provincial members and senior staff members from the Party Headquarters, Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri hailed the unity of purpose exhibited by the various teams involved in preparing for the Conference. “I am happy with the reports I have received they show that people are working. Well done to the host Province for the good work. I am confident this Conference will be as successful as the one hosted in Esigodini last year. We now have about two weeks before the Conference and should now round up the outstanding issues”.She said the Conference was an opportune occasion for delegates and Party members to receive feedback on the performance of Government and track the implementation of the 2018 People’s Manifesto.“The Conference is also an opportunity for us to receive feedback on the resolutions we made last year and I’m happy Cde Dickson Dzora (Director Administration) is working with the Office of the President and Cabinet to track progress and implementation of projects. So at the Conference we have serious work to do informing the delegates on the performance of both the Party and Government. Delegates want to know our response to issues such as Climate Change, Command Agriculture and the Drought, so we should be prepared”.Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri also took time to explain a number of policy measures the Government has introduced in recent months.She said the introduction of the mono–currency system was intended to stimulate production as the country cannot develop without its own currency.President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has also underscored the need for Zimbabweans to embrace the local unit in order for the country to attain upper middle income status by 2030.
