President Mnangagwa has said 2024 is the year for further growth and development as the nation focus on programmes earmarked for economic turnaround and continue to march towards sustainable stability.
Addressing mourners at the burial of the late National Hero Retired Colonel Kenny Ridzai Mabuya, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the nation should take a leaf from the late national hero whom he described as a trustworthy, dependable and loyal cadre who helped to shape the intelligence and security apparatus both during the liberation struggle and in the post-independence era.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa also said Zimbabweans must emulate the determination of many cadres like the late Colonel Mabuya who triumphed against the enemy and conquer colonialism to bring independence the people enjoy today.
The Head of State and Government also all upon all Zimbabweans to treasure and defend the independence and svovereinity of the nation in 2024 and beyond.
“I call upon Zimbabweans to treasure and defend, unity peace and independence and sovereignty. Individually and collectively, we shoulder the responsibility to develop, modernise and industrialise our country .Through our efforts, all Zimbabweans should work hard to occupy our niche in the global arena.
“Let us believe in ourselves and continue the development momentum witnessed under the second republic .We must never tire, but keep pushing forward,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa also said Zimbabwe under the Second Republic will continue to march towards sustainable, social and economic stability and prosperity.

Further guided by our mantra, “leaving No one and no place behind “,my Administration is ensuring that all provinces and districts, experience shared national development and prosperity, “said President Mnangagwa.
