The role played by the women in Zimbabwe's economic growth has been commended by the Head of State who has vowed to continue supporting them.
Speaking during the ZANU PF Women’s League first National Assembly for this year, His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa said the work women do is commendable.
The meeting was held under the theme, "Breaking Barriers, Building Futures: Women’s Journey Towards Vision 2030."
"Women are invaluable contributors to our ongoing journey of modernizing, industrializing, and building our country. Basa ramuri kuita rakakoshera nyika yedu ye Zimbabwe, rakakoshera Musangano wedu weruzhinji, ZANU PF. Tinokutendai madzimai. You are playing your part, in various sectors to transform the political, social and economic development of our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe," President Mnangagwa said.
"Despite challenges caused by illegal economic sanctions imposed on our country, which have affected women and children, the Women’s League has always supported and defended the Party. This is commendable.
"As Government, we stand committed to overcome the challenges encountered by women and communities as a whole. To this end, we continue to prioritize the implementation of empowerment programmes and projects, for women. This is a critical building block for the development and growth of our nation. When women are empowered,families are supported, communities developed and the economy grows."
