Relationship between Party and Government must be emphasized: Secretary General

By Staff Writer

“The relationship between the Party and Government, must be maintained for the benefit of all our people, says ZANU PF Secretary General Cde Obert Mpofu.

His remarks were made during the Policy and Coordination meeting held at the Party Headquarters this Monday.

Cde Mpofu emphasized the need to also hold a hitch-free 20th National People’s Conference scheduled for the Midlands Province this month.

“One of the most important programmes of our calendar this year, which is the 20th National People’s Conference that will be held between the 27th and 28th of October in the Midlands Province is fast approaching. At this stage, I expect that members of relevant committees and sub-committees to have done much of the ground work required to ensure that the 20th National People’s Conference is a resounding success. As time is fast running out, work should continue to ensure that this auspicious event carried out without a hitch,” the Secretary General said.

“Furthermore it is my hope that the relationship between the Party and Government is maintained for the benefit of all our people. The Party’s supremacy over Government should be emphasized but also be fully understood. The Party leads the Government in terms of setting the policy and the Government acts as the Party’s agent in pursuing different programmes and projects to ensure that the Party’s directives at policy level are attained.”
