PRIVATE SECTOR URGED TO DO MORE

The First Secretary of ZANU PF and President His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa has urged the Private sector to go beyond infrastructure development, and play a part in the education sector as well. President Mnangagwa said this whilst addressing delegates at the official opening of a girls hostel at the Zvishavane Vocational Training Centre and other blocks at the Zvishavane District Hospital whilst in Zvishavane yesterday. President Mnangagwa is on record for urging public and private sector to partner in bringing about economic order and growth, job creation, an end to corruption, improving our social services and in the provision of requisite infrastructure, water sanitation, education, healthcare and good environmental practices. “In line with Education 5.0 and the national skills requirements, I call on the private sector to go beyond the provision of infrastructure. They must play an active part in the design and delivery of appropriate education curricular and skills within our education institutions. Such collaboration will result in quality public training programmes while developing more demand-driven training and improving our entrepreneurship base," he said. “Other private sector players are exhorted to make quality Corporate Social Investments in communities throughout the country. Gone are the days where, that which is good, modern and quality, is a preserve of those in big urban cities." Speaking on the sidelines of the event during an interview, ZANU PF Ward 6 Councilor Cde Jose Ferreira said “this is a very good development in terms of Mimosa chipping in. I think Mimosa has done quite a lot for Zvishavane and we truly appreciate even with the New Dispensation coming in there have been a lot of developments going on. It’s a good turn around that His Excellency is pushing for all these initiatives to come out. We are truly thankful to Mimosa and His Excellency.”
