His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has congratulated Zambia's President Hichilema Haikande during the inauguration. 

Speaking from Zambia, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe will continue working with Zambia to improve relations.

"I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Government and people of the Republic of Zambia for the invitation extended to me and my delegation, to witness this important occasion in the history of your beautiful country," said President Mnangagwa.

"It is indeed a great honour and privilege to be here as we celebrate another important milestone in the consolidation of democracy in Zambia and the region. On behalf of Government and the people of Zimbabwe, and on my own behalf, I once again, warmly congratulate you, your Excellency and Dear Brother, on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Zambia. 

"As you begin the second term, Your Excellency and Dear Brother, I wish to assure you that my Government and the people of Zimbabwe will continue working with you and your Administration towards broadening our bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of our peoples."
