The ruling Party, ZANU PF has commended the strides being made by the First Family in solidifying the country's international relations.
The Second Republic has been unflinching in its stance on the engagement and re-engagement policy in order to attain vision 2030.
Speaking this Monday during the Policy and coordination meeting, the Party’s Secretary General Cde Obert Mpofu briefed Politburo members and Directors in attendance on the recent engagements done by the First Family.
"His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of our Party, Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa and our First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa travelled to Namibia on Saturday 18 February to attend the State funeral of the late Namibian President, Dr Hage Gottfried Geingob," he said.
"There was a visit by the Botswana First Lady to Zimbabwe last week. The Botswana First Lady was hosted by our dear First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa. The two First Ladies toured the National Museum of the Liberation where Mrs Masisi watered the Botswana tree at the Museum site. Mrs Masisi also toured the office of the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Dr Mnangagwa at Zimbabwe House."
Writing on her Timeline, the First Lady, Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa said "The First Lady of Botswana @njmasisi took time to visit and interact with women including widows who are doing wonders under the Agric4She and urban transformational programmes that i am spearheading. Her wish is to introduce similar programmes in her country. She appreciated the small scale farming projects being done by a 71-year-old-widow in Harare who has managed to build a house for her family. She also had an opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art mobile hospital which is equipped with world class medical equipment I received from Belarus and the Angel of Hope Mobile Clinic which I use for cancer outreach programmes."
She also wrote "On the last day with H.E Neo Jane Masisi, we toured the Liberation city which houses the museum of African Liberation and gives every African country a slot to exhibit souvenirs from the struggle against colonialism. She also had an appreciation of the national GBV centre housed at my offices. A heartfelt thank you to her for taking time to come and share experiences. This will go a long way in strengthening the already existing relationship between our two offices."
She also took time to mourn the late Namibian President His Excellency President Hage Geingob and had this to say "Today I attended the Memorial Service and State Funeral of the Late President of Namibia Dr Geingob. His wife Madame Geingos, my dear sister has been chairing our OAFLAD Organisation. My deepest condolences go to her and her family. May God comfort you during this difficult time."
