First lady donates fish fingerlings to ZANU PF

THE First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has donated 1 800 fish fingerlings to ZANU PF to bolster its self-help projects.Addressing members of staff at Party Headquarters today during the presentation ceremony, ZANU PF Director for Administration, Cde Dickson Dzora, commended the First Lady in absentia for her commitment to supporting marginalised communities across the country. Cde Dzora said the fingerlings will be used to train Party members on fish farming as the Party intensifies its empowerment programmes.“The First Lady introduced these projects and we are extremely grateful to her for the donation. Obviously, this is in line with the empowerment objectives of the Party. We want to train people to be self-reliant especially the youth and women. This programme will run throughout the provinces and we shall be training the trainers here at Party headquarters”.The Party has already constructed an 180 square metres pond at its headquarters that will be home to the donated fingerlings. The Kariba bream finger lings are expected to reach market size in the next 6-7 months and thrive in hot conditions.Since its victory in the harmonised elections last year ZANU PF has rolled out a number of self-help projects for its members. Among the projects unveiled by the party that have proven popular with its members include bread baking, chicken rearing and candle making.
